Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok
Luxury on the river in Bangkok,Thailand
The Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok is a 4.5 star luxury hotel located on the Chao Phraya River which is a major travel artery through Bangkok. We stayed for three nights at the beginning of our Thailand adventure. The hotel has a modern appeal, with lots of greys, metal and dark wood. We chose to have our breakfast included and were so glad we did. It was a blend of traditional Thai food, as well as some American staples, including an omelet bar.
The Chatrium boasts amazing views of the river, as well as the surrounding city. Spending afternoons at the pool, which overlooked the river, was a great way to relax and take a break from the heat.
There is also a bar and restaurant on the top floor (36th) with sweeping views of the city and it is a real treat to see at night.
We enjoyed the complementary Chatrium Boat. It was awesome having it at the dock and being able to go up the river to the boat taxi station (Chao Phraya Tourist Boat). It saved us a tuk-tuk or taxi ride! From the boat taxi area we were able to visit many places along the river, including, The Grand Palace, China Town and many temples. The hotel was in the perfect location for us to see everything that was important on our list.
Overall, I would highly recommend Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and kind and the service was excellent. It was the perfect way to begin our trip and I would stay there again.
Sea Dance Resort, Samui
Charming and Tranquil
Sea Dance Resort is a 4 star collection of charming bungalows with a beautiful pool and open air restaurant right at the beaches edge.
Our bungalow was round and had an attached bathroom, which was outside and partially covered. We loved the feeling of showering outside.
The first thing that caught our attention was the staff and how gracious they were. They always went out of their way to help us out and the service was superb. We enjoyed several meals at the resort and cocktails at Happy Hour every day.
Sea Dance was close to a town with plenty of shopping, restaurants and a huge beach. We were able to walk up the street and rent scooters to go sightseeing around the island.
We found this small resort to be a quiet, relaxing spot on a busy island. I would stay at Sea Dance again, and recommend it if you are looking for luxurious comfort without the huge resort feel.
U-Tiny Boutique Home Suvarnabhumi Bangkok
This modern hotel was a short ride from the airport and we used it as an overnight stay between flights. The staff was gracious and so welcoming. We were able to chat with them and learn about the hotel.
The price of our room also included a meal, as well as airport transfers each way. It offered a lot of value for a low price. The hotel is clean and new. Everything felt fresh. The pool and garden area were very pretty. We always enjoy having a comfortable outdoor space to relax!
This hotel is perfect if you are arriving in Bangkok late at night or need a stop-over between flights. I would definitely stay at the U-Tiny Boutique Home Suvarnabhumi Bangkok again.
